Forfaiting
Forfaiting is a form of export financing in which the bank (forfaiter) buys the buyer's debt obligation (usually a bill of exchange) from the seller without recourse. The seller receives the money at once, and the risk of non-payment passes to the bank.
Forfaiting is used in large deals with long deferred payment (for example, equipment supplies). Unlike factoring, it is usually arranged for a specific transaction and without recourse.
