Footwear is subject to mandatory labelling in the "Chestny Znak" mandatory labeling system, as are a number of clothing and textile items (for example, genuine leather products and certain categories on the official list). The labelling codes are applied before the goods enter circulation. We will tell you exactly what needs to be labelled and help you with the procedure.
What certification is needed for clothing and textiles?
Light-industry products are cleared under TR CU 017, while goods for children and adolescents fall under TR CU 007; depending on the item, this means either a declaration or a certificate of conformity. The form depends on the composition, purpose and age group. We determine the requirements for each item in the range.
How do I determine the HS code for clothing and footwear?
The code depends on the material and composition, gender and age, and type of item — knitted and woven fabrics, genuine and artificial leather are classified differently, and the duty rates differ too. With a wide range, an accurate item-by-item breakdown is important. We select the correct HS codes based on the specification.
What documents are needed to import clothing?
The basic set — a contract, an invoice with a specification, a packing list, transport documents — plus permits under the technical regulations (TR CU) and proof of labelling where it is mandatory.
