Sea Waybill
A Sea Waybill is a non-negotiable transport document confirming that the cargo has been accepted for carriage. Unlike a bill of lading, it is not a document of title: the cargo is released to the named consignee without presenting the original.
A Sea Waybill speeds up cargo release (there is no need to wait for the originals), but it is not suitable for letter-of-credit deals that require a negotiable bill of lading. It works for shipments between trusted parties.
