Forwarder's Certificate of Receipt (FIATA FCR)

FCR (Forwarder's Certificate of Receipt) is a forwarder's receipt under the FIATA standard confirming that the forwarder has taken the cargo with instructions to dispatch it to the named consignee. It is often used as proof of shipment in settlements.

An FCR gives the buyer confidence that the goods have been handed over to the forwarder even before the vessel departs. Alongside the FCR, other FIATA documents are used (for example, the FBL, the forwarder's multimodal bill of lading).
