Container flatcar (fitting platform)
A container flatcar (fitting platform) is a specialised rail flatcar wagon with fitting stops for securing sea containers. It is the main rolling stock for container rail transport.
One or two 20- or 40-foot containers are placed on a container flatcar. For bulk and general cargo, gondola cars and covered wagons are used.
