Stevedore — a company or worker performing loading and unloading operations on vessels in the port (stevedoring operations). Their speed determines the vessel handling time and costs.
Stevedoring costs are a noticeable part of the cost of sea transport. Delays in loading and unloading affect demurrage and delivery times.
