Phytosanitary and veterinary control
Phytosanitary and veterinary control is state control over the import of goods of plant (phyto) and animal (veterinary) origin to protect against pests and diseases.
Plants, wooden articles and packaging, for example, fall under phytosanitary control; products of animal origin fall under veterinary control. Corresponding certificates and permits are arranged for import.
The types of control depend on the goods; they are worked out in advance so as not to delay the cargo at the border.
