Duty-free import allowances
Duty-free import allowances are the established value and weight limits for goods for personal use within which an individual imports them without paying customs charges. Above the limit, charges are levied on the amount of the excess.
The allowances differ for various modes of transport and ways of import (in accompanied baggage, in postal items, in cargo). The values are periodically revised, so the current limits are checked as of the date of import.
