Abandonment to the state

Abandonment to the state is a customs procedure under which foreign goods are transferred free of charge into state ownership without payment of import duties and taxes.

It is used when it is not worthwhile for the importer to clear or return the goods. It is processed with the consent of the customs authority and relieves the declarant of the obligation to pay duties on those goods.

We will advise when this procedure is more advantageous than destruction or re-export, and process it.
