Exemption letter (refusal letter)
An exemption letter is an explanatory document from a certification body stating that the goods are not subject to mandatory conformity assessment (certification or declaration of conformity). It is used as justification during customs clearance and for retail chains.
An exemption letter is not a mandatory document, but it helps remove questions from customs and counterparties for goods not covered by technical regulations. It is issued for specific product items.
