Royalties and licence fees
Royalties and licence fees are remuneration for the use of intellectual property (a trademark, patent, know-how). If they relate to the imported goods and are a condition of their sale, they are added to the customs value.
This is one of the frequent reasons for additional assessments: customs checks whether the value has been understated by moving royalties "outside the brackets". It is important to correctly assess whether they are included in the value structure.
We will analyse the licence fees and correctly account for them during clearance.
