Customs representative (broker)
A customs representative (customs broker) is a legal entity from the register of the Federal Customs Service of Russia that, under a contract, performs customs operations in the name and on behalf of the declarant.
The broker selects the HS code, prepares the declaration, calculates the payments, interacts with customs and bears joint liability for the payment of duties. This reduces the risk of errors and speeds up release.
Working with a customs representative is especially worthwhile for complex product ranges, permit documents and value disputes.
