An administrative (departmental) appeal is the pre-trial procedure for challenging decisions, actions or omissions of a customs authority by filing a complaint with a higher customs authority within the set deadline.
It is a faster and free option compared with court. An administrative appeal can be used either on its own or before going to court in disputes over classification, value and payments.
