Sanctions screening

Sanctions screening is the checking of the parties to a deal, intermediary banks, vessels and goods against sanctions lists of various jurisdictions. It is carried out before concluding a contract and before each payment.

Screening reduces the risk of a payment being blocked and of secondary sanctions. Not only the direct counterparty is checked, but the whole chain: beneficiaries, carriers, banks.
