SDN List (OFAC)
The SDN List (Specially Designated Nationals) is a sanctions list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury. The assets of listed persons are blocked, and transactions with them are prohibited and risk secondary sanctions for third parties.
The SDN is just one of the lists; the EU, the UK and others maintain their own equivalents. Checking against the lists is mandatory during the sanctions screening of a deal.
