Aggregate customs payment (STP)
An aggregate customs payment is a way of calculating charges in which duty, VAT and (if applicable) excise are levied, as for ordinary import. It applies, for example, to individuals' goods deemed commercial, or under certain regimes.
The aggregate customs payment is usually higher than the flat rate, so it is important to correctly determine the status of the goods — personal or commercial. The calculation requires correct classification by HS code.
