Customs duty

A customs duty is a mandatory payment on the import or export of goods. The rate is determined by the HS code and may be ad valorem (a percentage of value), specific (per unit) or combined.

Import duty rates are set by the Common Customs Tariff of the EAEU and depend on the HS code, and sometimes on the country of origin (tariff preferences). In addition to the duty, VAT and customs fees are paid on import.
