GTIN (global trade item number)
GTIN is the global trade item number that underlies the barcode (EAN/UPC). It is used to describe goods in catalogues and is mandatory for registering a product card in the marking system.
Without a correct GTIN you cannot create a product card or order marking codes. The number is assigned through an operator and is tied to the characteristics of a specific product.
